Manaforge Mana Abacus PnP Available
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 03, 2018 at 11:01:11 PM

Hello everyone! This is a quick update to let everyone know that we've finished creating the files for the "Mana Abacus" mana tracking accessory for Manaforge. While the abacus is not currently available as a finished product, we do have a print-and-play PDF ready so that you can make your own! Just click here to get the file:

http://www.mystictigergames.com/Manaforge/Mana_Abacus_PnP.pdf

Download the file, cut, and play! Besides a sheet of paper (or card stock), all the abacus requires is four gem tokens from Manaforge, one for each element.

To use the abacus, place the gem tokens on the element spaces on the left side of the board, and then slide the tokens right and left as you gain and spend mana, respectively. The number immediately to the right of each token corresponds to the amount of mana of that element you have in your reserve.

I hope that this additional tool increases your enjoyment of the game. Thanks again for supporting Manaforge!

Post-Kickstarter Status #13: Campaign Complete!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 12:01:54 AM

Hello everyone! I know I haven't posted a Kickstarter update in a while. It's been a busy few months, with chasing down the last of the game fulfillment and dealing with other hurdles as they pop up. Here's what's been up:

Fulfillment Complete

I am happy to announce that the fulfillment for Manaforge is 100% complete! Each person that paid for a game, whether through Kickstarter or through BackerKit, should have received theirs. I got a few reports of backers not getting their games, plus a couple of reports of damaged copies or missing components, so extra copies and bits were sent out and received for those. I also had many people local to me ask for their copies to be hand-delivered (and in some cases signed), and just this past week I managed to finish delivering those too. So, to the best of my knowledge, everyone should have their games. If you ordered a copy of Manaforge but haven't received it, now is the last chance to contact me. Otherwise I am considering this Kickstarter campaign to be closed.

Retail Sales

Now that the Kickstarter copies are out, I'm working on finding outlets for the rest of them. Manaforge can always be purchased (while I have copies left) at my online store:

https://mystic-tiger-games.myshopify.com/

In addition to that, I'm working on setting up a presence on Amazon to sell Manaforge. And I have plans to make trips to game stores around Florida, run demos and see if I can get more retailers interested in copies. If you know of any game stores that you want to see carry Manaforge, please let me know. If it's close enough, I'm willing to head over to demo and teach.

The Road Forward

Manaforge might have been my first Kickstarter, but it won't be my last. I currently have a second game in development, code named "Sky Pirates", that is showing promise and might make it to crowdfunding. I have also started the design for the first expansion for Manaforge, tentatively named "Dark Magic", which will include more items, more talents, and a new black die. The focus of the expansion will be improving the amount of interaction between the players.

For information on the various kinds of projects I'm working on, feel free to check out my blog if you haven't already. I don't post as often as I should, but I do try to get information up there once in a while about what's going on here behind the scenes.

Closing

And with that, we are done! We here at Mystic Tiger Games want to thank everyone that supported the campaign, both with money and with patience, as it's been a long road from start to finish. (One year ago I was in the middle of my funding period. Where has the time gone?) Thank you for giving me the chance to bring my idea to life.

Post-Kickstarter Status #12: Shipping Update
over 6 years ago – Wed, Jan 17, 2018 at 11:34:11 PM

Hello everyone! Just a general update about Manaforge's shipping, along with a couple of other miscellaneous bits.

Backer Shipping

All of the games being shipped directly to backers have gone out. In fact, it's been nearly a month since the last ones went into the mail. (I only learned of the shipping date after the fact.) Everyone that is getting games in the mail should have theirs already. I've received sporadic reports as recent as last week that people are still receiving their copies, but they really should all have arrived by now.

So to that end, I'd like to know if anyone *hasn't* gotten theirs yet. If you ordered any copies of Manaforge, haven't received your copy(ies) yet, and aren't in the hand-delivery list, please let me know. Either a direct message, or an email to [email protected] would be good. I don't know at what point I should start declaring copies 'lost in the mail' and re-sending them, but I expect it will be soon.

Additionally, I've received word that a couple of people have received *extra* copies. Again, if this has happened to you, I'd like to hear about it. It would greatly help me with respect to inventory tracking if I know how many duplicates were sent out. I don't know the best way to handle the extras, but I do have options. GamesQuest has offered to provide return shipping labels if you want to send them back there, or I can pay for the extras to be sent to me, or they can just be donated to game stores or convention lending libraries as promo copies. In any case, please contact me and we'll figure it out.

Hand-Delivery

If you're in the group that wanted their copies delivered by hand and/or signed, I will need a little more patience from you. I've been informed that the pallet of games on its way here is scheduled to make U.S. port around January 25th. Customs and ground delivery are after that, so I'd expect to have the games in hand around the end of the month. I intend to set up a release party after that.

And thinking of parties, even if you aren't part of the hand-delivery group, you're still welcome to join in. I will have my game signing marker available for anyone with a copy of Manaforge, plus I'll can teach the game to anyone that is having trouble figuring it out. Expect an event in February, probably at the Coliseum of Comics in the Fashion Square Mall in Orlando, FL.

Mystic Tiger Games Store

Just in case you know of anyone that wants a copy of Manaforge but wasn't able to get in on the Kickstarter, know that I am in the process of setting up an online store. I will post more when it's up and running, but I'm planning on offering copies of Manaforge, as well as access to the wallpapers files and a small quantity of my blue tiger stuffed animal mascots.

Thanks everyone!

Post-Kickstarter Status #11: Now Shipping!
over 6 years ago – Mon, Dec 18, 2017 at 11:57:55 AM

Great news! Manaforge is starting to ship!

I just received a couple of emails from GamesQuest saying that there was a fortuitous break in their shipping schedule, enough to wedge my game in and get it out the door! I've been told that shipping notification emails should be going out any time now, and I've had one person comment that they received their game already.

I have three categories of packages going out:

Backer Shipments

The bulk of the campaign backers are in this category. If I haven't heard anything from you through social media, then you're probably here. You should be receiving an email from GamesQuest with shipping details. I don't know if there's any tracking information in there; it might vary by location. But at least you know it's on the way.

Backer Hand-Delivery

If you've contacted me through Facebook about wanting your games signed and/or delivered by hand, then you might be in this group. (Don't worry; I will contact you if you are.) I'm having a large block of games delivered to my area so that I can hand them out as needed. This might take a little longer, but they are definitely getting moving now.

Manaforge Dice

So, minor glitch here. It seems that the box containing the dice sets was lost during the freight shipping process. It was definitely packed and included on the pallets, but must've gotten knocked off somehow along the way. However, the factory informed me that they had enough spare after the production run to send me replacements, which I just received over this past weekend. They sent them directly to me, so I'm having to package and ship them out by hand. The five going out to U.S. address have already been dropped in the mail, and the two going abroad should be sent in the next day or two.

Feedback

When you do receive your game, I'd appreciate it if you'd make some noise online. Go to my Board Game Geek page and give it a rating or comment. Post on Facebook or Twitter. Even post a picture on Instagram. Let's get the word out there that Manaforge is an actual thing and not just vapor.

Post-Kickstarter Status #10: Turkey Day
over 6 years ago – Thu, Nov 23, 2017 at 10:56:21 PM

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's been a busy couple of weeks, and I thought I'd share some good news.

Freight Shipping

I've received word that the games have landed at port in the U.K. Yay dry land! :) The batch of games should be off of the boat by now and be in the middle of getting processed by customs. (If it's any indication, I just got the bill for the import taxes. Ouch!) Another few days and they'll arrive at the fulfillment center.

Fulfillment Status

I've gotten an update on the fulfillment situation. The bad news is that they are still very backed up, what with the incoming games and the holiday rush. However, the good news is that they have brought on extra staff for the holiday season, and they're slowly starting to catch up with the backlog. It's still no guarantee that my games will be delivered by Christmas, but at least the chances of it are going up on a daily basis.

Address Lockdown

Because we're getting close to starting up the fulfillment process, I'm going to need to lock down everyone's mailing addresses. By locking the addresses, I can calculate exactly how many games need to go where. However, once I do this, it means that you won't be able to change your address using the survey link; any address changes will have to go through me. If anyone needs to change where their games are going, now would be a good time. (And if anyone needs any help with this, please don't hesitate to send me a message.)

That's it for now! I hope to have more good news soon.
